Change Managed Package Object Name , Standard Field Name and Related List Label

In my previous post we came to know how to managed package object field name. Here in this post let see how to change managed package object name, Standard Field name and related list label.

Let me explain one by one..

1. How to change managed package object name and standard name field label.

2. How to change managed package related list label.

 How to change managed package object name and standard name field label :

Requirement : To change object name from 'Candidate' to 'Employee' and standard name label from 'Candidate Number' to 'Employee Number'.

Let's do this step by step.

Step 1 : Go to Set up -> Customize -> Tab Names and Labels -> Rename Tabs and Labels. 

Step 2 : Find your object form custom tab section and click on edit.You will get page as bellow.

 

Step 3 : Now you can edit Record name and Object name.

Record Name : Employee Number

Singular : Employee

Plural : Employees 

Click on save.

Wow you successfully changed managed package object name and standard field name label.

Lets check it out.Go to your record detail page for an object there you can able to see the changes.

How to change managed package related list label :

Requirement : To change Employee related list 'Job Application' to 'Project Role'.

Step 1 : Go to Translation Workbench -> Override. You will get page like below snapshot 

 

Step 2 : Select the filter criteria.

  1. Package - Select package name where your field includes. 
  2. Language - Let it be default.
  3. Setup component - Select custom field.
  4. Object - Select object 'Job Application'.
  5. Aspect - Related List label.

After above selection you will get list of all related list on object as shown below.

 

Step 3 : Now you can Override package label with your custom label by using related list label override column and save your changes.

Wow you successfully changed managed package related list label.

Lets check it out.Go to your record detail page for an object there you can able to see the changes.
